How do I fix this?

I just flashed the Liquid ROM (sp?) and now when my phone is in portrait the "q" key does not work and when in landscape the whole bottom row of keys does not work. Now, by not work I mean when I try and press the "q" key the "w" key is selected and when the phone is in landscape and try to press the space bar a key like "c" gets selected. This also happened when I flashed the CM7 ROM. I would love to try out other ROMs besides BAMF for more then 5 minutes, but I need these keys to work. And to answer some questions, yes I wiped all data, the dalvick cache, and all that good stuff. Am I doing something wrong or are these known issues with the ROMs?

Thanks in advance,

JV

I don't use the default keyboard on my Liquid Thunderbread ROM... and have not when I used CM7. Might try a 3rd party keyboard like SwiftKey X Beta... or even Swype Beta 3... I prefer SwiftKey.

****EDIT: And I guess by your comments of all that good stuff you are referring to Cache, not just Dalvik Cache.

So I installed swiftkey and it fixed the problem with the bottom row keys not working but the "q" still cant be selected in portrait mode...any ideas?

Sorry, I've never heard of that before... I just tested mine since I don't use the q that often... and it worked... sorry... I'll think about it, but I'm stumped right now.

You might want to try the newest version, just checked in late last night... v2.3 is out... according the the release notes they have a larger Gingerbread keyboard instead of the small one.

I'm not sure if this will solve your issue since it's been happening with CM7 also... but I was going to suggest that you flash the ROM again after you did another backup... I'd still wipe the device and clear both cache and dalvik cache again before installing this new update just to be sure you have a clean install.

By the way, are you using Titanium Backup??? Just wondering if you are checking out the keyboard before or after you use it... maybe it's messing up your keyboard... just a thought.

I'm downloading 2.3 now, hopefully it fixes the issue. To answer your question about Titanium backup, I use MyBackup Root for contacts and apps and I always create a nandroid backup before flashing a new ROM, is there a reason to use Titanium if I am doing this? I havent made a backup yet with Titanium...I will post back when I have 2.3 flashed.
