how do I flash clockworkmod recovery over thunderc

i cant find the info on the forum thats relevant to my phone and i tried other methods and nothing is working.

tried romtools, looks like it flashes ok, then reboots back into thunderc recovery.

tried putting the clockworkmod in the romtools folder named recovery.img and same thing

tried terminal emulator and flashing it from the root of the sd card from inside the phone and i get file not found even though its clearly there.

i need SPECIFIC and EXACT steps as all the info i tried so far isnt working.

i want aosps 2.3 on my phone but i previously had aphrodite with the thunderc recovery.

rename the recovery.img to vrecovery.img

try flashing it in the Terminal Emulator app which is in the market .. only thing is you need the codes to flash. It worked for me.

im using a raw image file not a zip.

From Terminal Emulator:

1. Download the ClockworkMod Recovery: http://aospmod.googlecode.com/files/recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.6-ov-20110220.img
2. Move recovery.img to root of the SD card.
3. Open the Terminal Emulator on the phone & type the following commands:
4. :

su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/"name of recovery".img
reboot recovery

5. The phone should now reboot into the ClockworkMod Recovery (orange text for 3.0+).

Flash the ClockworkMod Recovery - ROMRepo

ok, method 1. I wouldnt have a problem with this but i cant seem to point the command prompt to my android SDK directory. i do have all the required files since i needed it to root over a month ago.

2. flat out doesnt do a thing. says i need clockworkmod recovery and refuses to work. even though im trying to FLASH the clockworkmod recovery. everythings in the correct directories on the SD card.

3. followed instructions to a T but when i type "flash_image recovery /sdcard/"name of recovery".img" and put the exact name of the recovery i have on the SD. it just says flash_image not found.

no where else does it mention that i need to have a flash_image file on the SD as well, so where do i get that?

Method 4 doesnt work. i hold volume down and power and it just boots into android normally

Download this and unzip it and put it in the root of your sdcard:
http://aospmod.googlecode.com/files/recovery-clockwork-3.0.0.6-ov-20110220.img

Once its unzipped you can name it whatever you want to reduce typing.

you need to download flash_image and put it to the root of your SD card ....

how come that isnt mentioned anywhere?

where can I get that file?

How did you root your phone?

That is part of the process.

How did you initially flash a rom?
When I installed asop you had to manually flash the recovery stuff.
It looks like once again the one-stop shop is making it too easy.
