I did a factory reset on my Galaxy S2 GT-I9100P. Everything went fine until I noticed Google play store now tells me my device is not compatible with a number of apps, such as Google Chrome browser.

I noticed that firmware is now gingerbread, android version 2.3.4.

I tried several times to update but the phone repeatedly says my software is up to date! What do I do??

Download and install Kies from Samsung. Connect then look for an update to the latest OS, the latest should bring your device to Jellybean (4.1).
