how to get keyboard to go away with incoming call on Samsung Galaxy s5

Sometimes my keyboard comes up with an incoming call (instead of the slide to answer screen) and even typing in my password won't make it go away so I can't answer the call. How do I answer a call when this happens?

Welcome to Android Central! That's odd behavior--you mean that when you get a call while the phone is asleep, it looks like you have to enter your PIN or password?
