how to get letter from keypad of mobile phones

while typing password etc., we have to type letters and numbers . numbers o.k. but how to get letters from the key pad . there is no any option in any cornor of the phones

Welcome to Android Central! If you only see a numberpad, then it's probably asking for a numeric PIN, not an alphanumeric password.
