s6 phone - using application manager to show my list of all apps - want to add one of the apps to the apps screens

Rather than Application manager, try tapping the center button on the bottom of the screen (the one that shows all apps, usually a circle with 6 dots or boxes in it), locate the app you want to have on your home screen, long-press it and then drag it to where you want it to be. This creates a shortcut there and leaves it in that full list so if you choose to remove it from the home screen you can and still have access to the app.
