how do I get AT&T's prepaid sim card for free? (local AT&T corporate store wants $25 + refill)

how do I get AT&T's prepaid sim card for free? (local AT&T corporate store wants $25 + refill, before they'll give me one)
they said the only other alternative is for me to buy one of the cheap($30) GoPhone, which comes with a SIM card and
I can just toss away the phone. Seems a little ridiculous to me, no?

AT&T website also does seem to have a way for me to order a prepaid SIM card.(free or otherwise)

I just walked in and told them I needed one. They assigned it to my phone and there was no cost.

I didn't have to pay for the Sim either.
