how do I get better WiFi connection

When im in my house i don't get WiFi unless i hold my phone to the window

1. What are connecting with? Make, model, Android version.

2. What are you connecting to?

3. What have you tried so far to improve the connection? Do you have access to the router?

Android since v1.0. Linux user since 2001.

How far away from your phone is your router? (I assume you're not breaking the law and stealing wifi from someone else.)

If your wifi signal is from your cable company (some of them do area or neighborhood wifi), contact them.
