How do I get free tethering on the gs2?

Buddy of mine just got the phone how do in getting tethering for free?

Don't I need a custom rom or what?

Delta, I believe FoxFi is a free app that doesn't require root that will provide WiFi tethering for free. There was a thread a while back I have linked that should have all the details.

Killswitch, thanks for the update. I had it awhile back, used it, thought it was decent, and realized its not something I need very often. If Sprint speeds were better I would stop paying for data on my iPad (Gen 1 on ATT) and actually pay for the hotspot feature.
