how do I get into my HOTMAIL if they say I tried too many times?

I have been blocked from emails on my android smartphone for about a month. I finally at one point had a code sent to me, but I didn't know how it worked so I couldn't use it. I don't remember how I got there!!! The screen says authentication failed. press check ID/PASSWORD first or try 15 mins later. I can't do either... Help??!!??
