How do I get mu custom boot animation running

Hi, im using an Alcatel One Touch Fierce 2, on the metro pcs network. I am rooted. I have a custom boot animation I eould like to use, but it seams to always revert back to the original. Ive gone into system/media and replaced bootanimation.zip with my own versoin, and even changed the authorizations to match the original. Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong, and how to fix it?
