How do I get my home button to work on S6 Edge?

I have had my Galaxy S6 Edge for a few months. The home button stopped functioning properly. It will read my fingerprint to unlock the phone, but it will not go to the home screen. I have to keep hitting the back button to get to the home screen or close all recently used apps. Also once the screen goes black, it doesn't light up with notifications of texts, calls etc. unless I click on it to randomly check.

Is there anyway to fix this without doing a factory reset?

You can try to clear cache in the bootloader
