How do i get my notificatons

I have an android box its kitkat 4.4 i think and i have notifications in the status bar at the top left side of the screen and i cant access them. I only have a regular remote for it and i cant figure out how to read them. Please help me read my notifications

(I assume that this is an Android TV - on a phone, the status bar is on the top.) I don't think you can "pull" the status bar to the right because TVs don't have touch screens, but see if the box has a USB port. If it does, plug in a USB mouse - then hover over the status bar, hold the left mouse button down and pull the status bar to the right.
