Stuck in Recovery

So I have a rooted lg g3 vs985. So there was an ota update recently and when i tired to install there was an error. So today i planned to remove twrp, unroot, install the update then re root. So when i first installed twrp i booted into recovery but every time i tried to boot up it would just boot into twrp again. I ended up fixing it by typing a command. Then today i flashed the original recovery and decided to boot into it; then when i went to boot up it booted back to recovery. I tried everything, clearing cache and i decided to factory reset but even that didnt help. Then i tried to sideload a default rom and im doing it correctly i believe, if its called "update" and its a zip, then i would type "adb sideload update.zip" . Every time i do it replies: cannot read update.zip . Can someone help? im a noob at adb.

Re: Stuck in Recovery

There is a fix for this posted on XDA. It happened to me on my Verizon G3 and it worked like a charm. Just get the zip file on your external SD and flash it from twrp.

Search for LG_G3_Flash2FixStuckRecovery.zip

Re: Stuck in Recovery

So since im on the default recovery is this basically "apply update from external sdcard"? Ill try it. I hope it works

Re: Stuck in Recovery

You may need to rename to update.zip since you're no longer using twrp.

The above actually might only be for twrp stuck. I am not sure but proceed with caution. Wort case you can flash the stock ROM using the LG tool. That should repair pretty much anything.

Re: Stuck in Recovery

So apparently it failed to mount /sdcard . Is the "lg tool" the lg flash tool? Because I cant figure out how to login to it. #noob

Re: Stuck in Recovery

So my only problem was I was a noob and kept the tot file within the zip as a tot. So I just need to extract it. Somehow.
