How do I get my voice mail setup?

I have tried multiple times to retrieve my voice mail messages it tells me "Missing voicemail number" and when I try to add the number I get a message "Failed to read data". Is my number not not stored on the SIM card? If not how do I get this done?

There is often a special phone number to be dialed by the app.
