How do I get past the encrypt screen on my Samsung Galaxy s3

I am trying to set a password and it's been trying to encrypt over night but it hasn't got to the password bit yet

I guess you have to go for factory reset to overcome the issue.

Encryption can take several hours and more stuff you have on your device, the longer it takes.
