Welcome to Android Central! Do they only occur when you're using the browser? Popup ads usually are dependent on the site you visit, so I would avoid those sites.

The chrome browser setting to reduce data consumption is supposed to block ads. I don't know how much though.

I use Firefox on my Tab Pro, and I have the AdBlock Plus extension added, it does work, but not as well as it's desktop version.
