How do I get rid of Geo News?

After hearing people say that Lollipop had stabilised I've finally upgraded, and was pleasantly suprissed, but I still have one problem I can't fix. Geo News! The nasty little thing is eating away at my battery, and it's not like we are ever going to have an earthquake in Birmingham! I've tried disabling it, but now I'm stuck halfway between a functional app, and an a disabled one in that it's running a process that's using the location subsystems, but not operating anymore, so pretty much the worst of both worlds. Anyone know how to either kill it, or re - enable it so I can try to kill it again?

Thank as always for the help

Barry

give clearing your cache and try see if it cleans things up.
Power down your phone, now press & hold the power button, volume up & the home button until your phone boots into Recovery. Now use the volume rocker to select Wipe Cache. Hit the power button to make it happen - give it a sec to clear the cache. Now use the volume rocker to select Reboot System - hit the power button & run you phone for a bit. See if this helps*
