how do i get rid of the voice mail notification?

i have an lg g3 and i was doing an exam so i had to put my phone away, then when i checked i had several calls and a voice message, i cant get rid of the notification and aswell i have never set up a voice message on my phone.

Welcome to Android Central! I think that once you start service with a wireless carrier, you get a voicemail account. Setting it up means selecting a PIN and changing your outgoing message, but at this point, if you never did any of that, people who call you probably just get a generic greeting stating your phone number.

Are you asking how to block voicemails completely, or how to set up your voicemail account? Either way, contact your carrier.

This may not answer your question directly but consider switching to Google Voice for voice messages.

I'm in o2 In UK, it's 1760 and 1761 on and off. O2 charge for voice mail so I disabled it. Always have.

I'm on ee and found the notification wouldn't go until I had deleted the voice mail message (press 3 after listened to it, we'll that's what I need to do in ee voicemail anyway)
