My Samsung GTA uses Android 7.1 & Calendar4.2.14.6 (apparently not the problem).
In Calendar- Event Details, certain unknown text characters (including "<" & ">"), trigger an unnoticed formatting error, when the event is synchronized from another web calendar into this one, such that the text becomes an unformatted & virtually unreadable string of HTML text.
This does not happen if the edit is done in this Calendar and synchronized out to a web calendar (ie Google Calendar, or RCN Calendar).
Several solutions are needed:
1) a list of the characters for which the android sync is incompetent (so I can avoid them for now)
2) a way to publicize this well known but poorly reported problem.
3) A software fix from Android, or the Calendar/Sync author. (This problem has apparently been around for a year or more.)
