How do I get the AR Emoji and slow motion features

I am new to the smart phone. I got the Samsung Galaxy S8 for Christmas. My daughter has the S9 and was trying to tell me how to find and use the AR Emoji with my camera, but the things she told me to look for are not there.

I understand the latest update was supposed to have provided these features on the S8. I was on with chat and after waiting and waiting they just disconnected me, so I hope I can get some help here from someone.

I have my phone set on auto update, but in addition I did manually check for updates and the phone reports that it is up to date.

The update may not be released for your specific model yet. This is the info on that update for the S8, and indeed it does add the AR Emoji and extra Slow Motion features, but that doesn't mean that the update has rolled out to all countries and models (especially if you have a carrier-branded phone, since the carrier still needs to further modify the system and release it).
