How do I get the charging symbol off of my Samsung Tab 2 p3100 when it is not plugged in?

Samsung Tab 2 p3100 charging issue without connecting the chanrger

I have a Samsung tab 2 p3100, a few days ago accidentally water spill over my tab.
It wasn't working then, the battery too was low.
So I shook the tab to ensure if water doesnt stay inside ,but there was none.
Keep it sit idle for some time, & then switched on, nothing happened.
After sometime, the tab was showing the charging symbol ,though the charger wasn't connected.
It drained after a while, I had then connected it & then it was charging.
The issue now ,is that the charging symbol doesnt go away at all.

It may not be able to clear due to water.
