Ok so I'm kinda new... I've read a few posts, downloaded a 2.3.4 complete rom from a couple different sites renamed it update.zip to the root of the sdcard, and it aborts the installation because it says failed full line signature verification or something like that. I'm not rooted nor have I ever been, just a stock phone that received the ota unnoticed. I don't like the update, how can I go back to grj22?

Re: how do i go back to grj22????

The better question is why you want to go back to GRJ22? Is was a buggy version no doubt, at least on the Sprint version of the Nexus.

What don't you like about the update?

I'm guessing the broken tethering.

Yes, the broken tethering is what I don't like. Its just irritating that I have to pay for it now, when I know there's a way to get it free.

So... is there a way to go back?

It was never buggy for me. I'm not a developer or anything, just a regular joe using the ns4g in the stock version mostly for web browsing, games and as a phone. I didn't have any ridiculous battery issues or weird rebooting problems, this phone has worked flawless for me. I never had any radio issues my 3g, 4g and wifi all worked all the time, and my 4g was as fast as my cable laptop and my wifi was faster than my wifi laptop, most of the time I was satisfied with 3g for browsing web sites, I always had enough bars to never drop a call. So I'm not sure what all the fuss is about because grj22 was perfect for me. Grj90 is fine far as I can tell, but it irritates the crap outta me that now I have to pay sprint for tethering when I know I can get it free.

There's a patch you can install over 90 that will get the tethering back. Or you can root and use an app. Or you can go back to 22. You have options.

Do you have a link to either the patch or the thread talking about how to install the patch?

http://forums.androidcentral.com/sprint-nexus-s-4g-rooting-roms-hacks/87814-sorta-one-click-root.htmlYou're going to lose everything like text messages, pictures, etc. Your phone will go back to the way it was the day you bought it. So save what you can to your PC. Contacts and calendar entries tied to Google/Gmail will come back. Apps will be able to be re-downloaded, but don't expect any settings or high scores to still be there.

Watch the video in that first post in the link before you do anything. Rooting definitely has its advantages but its not for everyone.

ok, thanks for your help chud and everyone else. ill do some heavy reading i guess and see how upset i really am about the broken tethering lol

If I were someone who relied on tethering, I would personally feel that having to start over with my phone is worth the 360 dollars saved per year. It's not scary as long as you realize you will lose things before hand.

You could also try PDAnet or some of the other tether apps out there, depending on your needs.

I don't have a problem with the 2.3.5 update, my problem is the radio, my phone is getting hot when I make calls, I lose my 3g a lot of times, my wifi does not work so I am going to flash the old radio and keep the 2.3.5 rom and see..... Samsung sucks! I did the same mistake twice! the first was the Samsung Moment and now this nexus!
