How do I go from 1.5 to 2.1?

I need help going from 1.5 to 2.1. I rooted my phone a few months ago but now I don't know where to start. Help please. TIA.

Do a nadroid backup first.Then choose the rom of your choice download,place the zip on the root of sdcard.Boot into recovery.Wipe data,dalvik,ext.Then flash the zip.Then reboot.

Thanks beezy. But can you or someone point me to a step by step process of what you indicated below? I used the write up on how to root before and something like that would be helpful.
