How do I initiate voice input on the keyboard dock with ICS?

I got my dad a transformer with dock.
He is a bad typer so the voice input would be great but I cannot figure out how to access it from the hardware keyboard.
Is there a shortcut or something he doesn't have to have the software keyboard opened as well?

This is important specifically for emails, where there is no microphone button like there is on the homescreen next to the google search button.
