how to keep emails on computer after deleting from galaxy III

when I delete emails on my phone they disappear from my computer. Pleas ehelp. Verizon and google were no help.

There are 2 kind email accounts - IMAP and POP3.

With IMAP, the emails are kept on the server, so deleting an email "deletes" it from all devices that connect to it.

With POP3, emails are kept on the devices, so deleting an email only deletes it from that device.

You can change most email accounts from their web pages. (But storing tons of emails on your phone, instead of on the server, can eat tons of storage.)
