My S10 keeps waking and puts me on the "verify your identity" screen, and as such it is consuming s great bit of power. How can I get it to remain off when I am not using it?

Try going to settings. Then display. Then turn on accidental touch protection.
I do have that on.
Maybe you have lift to wake enabled in settings >advanced features> motion and gestures
I had that enabled , everytime I left my phone on the passenger seat it would wake up from rough roads lol.Right i totally forgot about that - _-"

I disabled that just to make sure no one touched my phone... Hahaha.

And always on display is off, so I have no clue what is going on.
I figured it out!! I had an app that was keeping it on. I was using an app downloaded from Google play called "AMOLED" that utilized always on display features. I force stopped it and that put a stop to the phone waking and I no longer see that verify identification overlay. So it looks like the issue is solved.
