My S10 keeps waking and puts me on the "verify your identity" screen, and as such it is consuming s great bit of power. How can I get it to remain off when I am not using it?

Try going to settings. Then display. Then turn on accidental touch protection.

Maybe you have lift to wake enabled in settings >advanced features> motion and gestures

Yeah, it was on. I'll see if turning it off solves this. Apparently it either kept thinking it was getting picked up while bristling in my pocket as I walked at work, or it's something else. I hope this solves it though.

Nope didnt solve it. Keeps going to clock display and then an overlay on that asking for me to identify myself. Ugh. I better not have gotten a bugged unit.

And always on display is off, so I have no clue what is going on.

Try settings>lockscreen>app shortcuts
I turn them off so no accidental touches on them and see if you have Lockscreen timed off it's by default to stay extra 5 seconds on

I can't touch the app shortcuts on the lockscreen because it goes to that clock display after a few seconds and then it asks to verify my identity. Navigation bar also comes and remains on too. The navbar is on in white while the clock displays on a black screen.

And I just tried seeing if smart lock was keeping it on whenever it senses movement, but it isn't, I have that set to off..

I figured it out!! I had an app that was keeping it on. I was using an app downloaded from Google play called "AMOLED" that utilized always on display features. I force stopped it and that put a stop to the phone waking and I no longer see that verify identification overlay. So it looks like the issue is solved.

Great, glad you found the problem.
