How do I keep Samsung's Swipe from not disappearing

I start out using swipe on the samsung keyboard and then it suddenly stops working.

What am I doing wrong?

I finally figured out Swipe wasn't working for me: I was tapping to start instead of sliding very lightly across the screen. Light pressure is a must.
