How do I make Talk Button on Bluetooth not open google voice search?

Been looking around my settings and online. Hoping to get you guys and gals to help. My bluetooth earpiece (Samsung HM1700) connects to my phone. I can hear stuff (mostly listening to podcasts) etc. But when I click the talk button on my BTD(blue tooth device) it will pull up google voice search. Basically all I want my bluetooth to do is answer calls, and when it is not doing that, use the talk button to play/pause audio. Used to do that on my Iphone. Still learning, second android device (archos gamepad bought only a month before). Thanks for any help provided.
