How do I prevent email from being deleted from the mail server?

I am using the e-mail client on a Motorola Droid Razr HD... when I delete a message on the phone, it also seems to be deleted from the server, as when I collect messages on my desktop, the message is not there. Is there any way to set the phone e-mail to not delete messages on the server, even though I delete the message on the phone? I have gone through the phone e-mail settings and can't seem to find anything there that would accomplish this. Thanks in advance....

Welcome to Android Central! That's how POP3 servers usually work. Consider changing to the IMAP server, if your email provider has one (do a Google search for "[your email provider] IMAP settings").

If you're stuck with POP3, or if you prefer it, open Email, tap Menu>Settings, select the email account, and look for an option to delete email on the server or not. If you don't see it, you might have to manually edit the POP3 settings.
