How Do I Prevent Voicemail from Importing/Playing in Music?

My husband just got a new unlocked Note 20 Ultra rather than buying a VZW branded phone, and as such, is using You Mail for his voicemail rather than Verizon Voicemail. However, all of his saved voicemails from Verizon appear (and play) in his Samsung music folder. I had the same problem on my VZW S9+ but was able to go into the Voicemail folder and create a .nomedia folder which solved the problem. His Note 20 Ultra does not have such a voicemail folder and he can't seem to figure out where the voicemail is stored (I don't have access to his phone or I'd try to figure this out). Anybody have an idea how to keep the saved voicemails somewhere on his phone but stop them from playing in his music playlist?

Another question - he now has two Samsung folders in his apps and each has a number of separate Samsung apps. He hasn't been able to get the two folders combined. Any way to combine them?

Thanks for the assist!

Do you still have your Verizon S9+? Can you find out what the directory pathname for that voicemail folder is? Or are you saying that pathname doesn't exist on your husband's phone?

I still have my S9+ but it appears that the same pathname does not exist on his phone. We went into internal storage to look at his folders and nothing is named Voicemail or Visual Voicemail like it is on my S9+. Obviously the old saved Verizon voicemail messages are saved somewhere or they wouldn't play in the Samsung music app but cannot figure out where they are stored since he migrated to the unlocked Note 20 Ultra. I simply went into the Voicemail folder on my S9+, added the .nomedia folder and it stopped my saved voicemails from playing in the music app.

On his phone, open whichever media-playing app he uses and see if he can locate one of those voicemail files. Select it and look for an option to look at the file details/info. Does it say what directory it's in?

He finally tracked down the source of the stored voicemails. Turns out he had tried moving them into some other folder (Lord knows I would never understand his filing system logic) and I was finally able to get .nomedia folders installed to solve his problem.
