Welcome to Android Central!

Open the app drawer (either by swiping up from the bottom of the screen or by tapping on an icon that looks like a grid of dots). Scroll through the list until you find Facebook. Press and hold it, then drag it to your homescreen.

If you don't find Facebook among the apps in your app drawer, then you'll need to open the Play Store app and install it from there.

Depends on the launcher you're using (and if you're using the stock one, then on the device you are using). But most of the time you can just go into your app list, tap and hold an app, and drop it onto an empty space in your homescreens. Alternatively you might be able to tap and hold on an empty space on your homescreen and select to add a shortcut to an app from the menu that appears.
