How do I put music on Samsung Fascinate for Dummies

I just want to take my windows media player MP3 songs and put them onto my Samsung Fascinate so I can use the music player to listen to them. I've watched some youtubes and can get the usb mounted. When I drag the album folder to the empty music folder it just doesn't do anything.
Do I have to take the SD card out of the phone and put it in my laptop and do it that way? I'll be the first to say that I'm not very computer savvey but why is this such a complicated thing to do?

When it doesn't do anything, I assume you are referring to Windows doesn't respond to that command? Have you tried doing a simple copy/paste?

Hmmm, I guess I didn't post correctly yesterday.
I tried to copy and past like suggested and found that when doing it that my screen had timed out and the usb connection became unmounted as a result. When I mounted it the files copied and I was able to just drag the files from my laptops My Music folder to the phones Music folder. I also had to unlock the sd mass storage. I got it to work and am now a happy camper. I wish I could figure out how to get media player to sync with the phone so I could just add albums and have it just update but I'm content for now as I don't really want to keep adding more and more software if not needed. I prefer to keep things simple. Not being savvey it's always a hassel trying to learn my way around a new program. So if i can do thing with what I have already al the better. So far I've managed to Root my phone and add a wireless tether form this site and some YouTubes. Learned how to rip my CDs with Windows Media Player and now load them onto the phone. I 'm still hoping to get up the nerve to try and get google and google voice search on the phone and get rid of the Bing. I at least have google book marked. D

there are several good programs in the market. the one that I use is called Doubletwist. I loaded it on my home computer and it copies all of your music and photos. then you can plug your phone to the computer with a usb cable, then follow the prompts and your music will load on your phone. i also am not very savy with this stuff, but it was very easy to do
