How do I recover my files and pictures from my broken Galaxy S5?

So I've been wanting to recover all my files and photos from my broken Galaxy S5. The AMOLED is cracked so I can't see anything on the screen to type in the passcode to unlock it and plug it into my PC. I'm not sure if the touchscreen works because it's on silent, however it does turn on because it vibrates when I push and hold the power button. I can't put the volume up when it's locked. Any way to recover at least some of the files?

You'll need a screen. See if a repair shop near you has an S5 screen they'd be willing to plug in just for you to recover your files (photos are files too).

And, of course, in the future, you'll have everything backed up, right?
