How do I remove faint shadow background?

I use an old Samsung S7 and have somehow changed my settings so that I have a faint shadow pattern appearing benlhind most of the apps I use. It doesn't appear to be a "background". I have changed the background and played with themes and can't work out what I've actually done.

It's annoying as it makes the text on most screens harder to read.

Thanks for any help.

Mark.

Sounds like possible screen burn in, which is a physical hardware problem. If you can take a screenshot and transfer it to a computer or something to view it on another display, do you still see the problem?

If you take a photo of your screen with a camera (preferably with a plain white background), you can upload it here and we'll be able to better diagnose it.

Hi, welcome to AC!

Can you post a picture or screen shot

Hi Mustang7757. I'm certain it isn't screen burn. I have definitely done something to turn the backgound on. I took a screen shot and the background DOESN'T appear, but it does in a photo.

I've attach both to this reply.

In the photo, the diagonal lines are from the camera itself. The diagonal lines don't appear on my screen.

Unfortunately, your screenshots aren't showing -- can you try again?

Hi, sounds like screen burn in but like B. diddy mentioned your screenshot didn't post .

Sorry, I'm new to android central and didn't actually "upload" them the first time. I've edited my original question and added them there.

The fist image is the screenshot and the second is a photo of my phone.

Thanks.

Thanks for updating, looks like your screen has burn in

Thanks Mustang7757. Fortunately it's only a second phone that I use for when I go riding (Strava) so I will just put up with it.

Thanks for your help.
