Can you elaborate a little as to what you've tried? Turning these pictures 'off' in your Gallery shouldn't take much more than going into Settings, your Google account, and disabling Picasa albums. Also, your Gallery's settings should have something like CONTENT TO DISPLAY where you can de-select Picasa if you still want to keep them synced to your phone but not visible to the Gallery.
