Hello Marvin Thomas2,

You can go click on the the three dots in the upper right of your Messages app and go into Settings-General-Password. You have to enter your old password then enter a new one and confirm it. I just contacted HTC and they said if you don't have your old password you can do a factory reset, even though it will erase all of your data and apps that you downloaded from the Play Store.
