How do I restore messages app on Samsung Ellipsis tablet?

I can't find the yellow envelope icon with messages underneath it on my Ellipsis tablet. The only icon I can find under applications is the red Verizon messaging app which I don't want to use. How do I restore the stock Samsung text messaging app?

Welcome to Android Central! The Ellipsis isn't a Samsung device -- it's a Verizon-branded device (manufactured by Quanta, who also makes the Kindle Fire). So it wouldn't have the Samsung text messaging app.

Since the Ellipsis is a tablet, it doesn't have telephony, and therefore doesn't support standard SMS texting. You have to use the Verizon Messages+ app.
