How do i restore or recover my backup password with my Samsung S6?

used the fingerprint feature and it couldn recognize my thumbprint and i cant rmb my backup password.

Welcome to Android Central! If you fail, it should also ask you for your Google credentials--does that work? 2-factor authentication should be temporarily turned off, since that can apparently interfere.
