How do I separate out apps from the home screen folder?

how to separate out apps from home screen folder

ON my Note 5 home screen, I sometimes accidently join an app with another to form a folder. I can not figure a way to return the apps as 2 separate icons again - except to delete the whole folder and then return each app from the full app list. There has to be a better way! Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! Open the folder, then long-press shortcuts and drag them outside the folder to the homescreen. When you drag the last one out, the folder should disappear (I think).
