How do I set my default home screen in Lollipop

Just updated from KitKat to Lolipop 5.02 on my MotoG
Now when I swipe to unlock it immediately defaults to open my phone dialler and I keep accidentally ringing my last contact. Its really annoying!

How do set the default to my home screen like it used to do with KitKat?

Long-press a blank area on the homescreen you want to be the default. Drag it to be the leftmost screen.

Or run a different launcher. (The launcher is just an app, there's nothing sacred about the one that comes with any phone, there are just differences in some of the features.)

What direction are you swiping? LP added shortcuts to the lock screen.. Swiping right will load the phone, left the camera. Swipe straight up will just unlock the phone.
