How do I stop my screen from locking when it is being charged?

Prevent Lock Screen When Powered

I use the lock screen feature with a pin on my AT&T S4. While it is a pain sometimes, I like the feeling of security. However there are definately times when I don't want to have to punch in my pin to unlock the phone. The best example is when I have the phone mounted in my car and connected to a USB power outlet. I would not mind (and probably prefer) the screen timing out and going black with just a touch required to bring it back. But I definately do not want to have to enter my pin while driving. Any way to get what I want? Basically having the lock screen inactive when the phone is externally powered.......

SkipLock might be what you need. Lollipop's Smart Lock feature does essentially the same thing.

Thanks. I'll install it tomorrow. Lollipop? When will it ever be available for the AT&T S4??

Not sure if it ever will be. I was just mentioning it since what SkipLock does was incorporated into Lollipop.

I downloaded SkipLock, installed it and immediately un-installed it. I did not like the fact that it was advertised as free when it is only free for 4 days. Also I did not like that it apparently changes my pin.

I have four home networks (well acutally one is the hotspot network in my car) that I would like the lock screen to be deactivated when I am connected to one of the four. Will Lollipop do that (not that it seems I will see it on this phone)?

Does SkipLock change the PIN, or does it just have permissions for it? It would make sense to have the permission, since it's acting essentially as a go-between for you. For what it's worth, I believe our very own Jerry Hildenbrand was a big fan of this app, so it does have its admirers.

In Lollipop, the Smart Lock feature can keep the phone unlocked when hooked up to any number of specified Bluetooth connections, locations, or with a "trusted face"--but not with a trusted wi-fi network. That's one of SkipLock's advantages.
