How do I stop Samsung S6 from charging when not connected to the wireless charger?

I started using a wireless charger and ever since my battery drains extremely quickly. This is apparently due to the fact that it is still 'charging' even though the wireless charger is in another location. How do I stop the phone from looking for the wireless charger?

It can't charge if its not sitting on the pad. They work by induction, current passing through a coil (charging pad) generates a magnetic field, that in turn is picked up by the other coil (phone) which excites the electron flow that charges the battery. They have to be very close for this to work... It's nothing like Bluetooth or WiFi.... The phone doesn't "look" for a charger, either it's charging or it isn't...
