How do I stop seening my client's business cards in the background when I close Active applications?

AC Question

Active Applications Screen Background (wallpaper)

Somehow through a pocket bump, the active applications screen (the actual background) has been set to an attachment from an email. Can't figure out for the life of me how to change it. Everytime I go to close Active Applications I see my client's business card in the background. How do I undo this?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? Which Active Applications screen are you talking about? The Recent Apps list? If you let us know which phone you have, we might be able to recommend a cache partition wipe.

Re: Active Applications Screen Background (wallpaper)

hi sorry the slow reply. Its a Samsung S5. I don't know which version of OS. I am running Aviate launcher if that has any thing to do with it.
you can see the image below in the attachment.

Re: Active Applications Screen Background (wallpaper)

I'm not directly familiar with Aviate, but you could consider going to the App Manager, selecting Aviate, and Clear Cache. If that does nothing, consider Clear Data as well, although this means you'll have to set it back up again (or it may have to learn your behavior again).

The other thing to try is a cache partition wipe, which won't erase any personal data: Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 5 | T-Mobile Support

Re: Active Applications Screen Background (wallpaper)

hey thanks for the reply. I removed aviate and the first thing I notice is that the same background is visible through Touch-Wizz. Is there somewhere I go to change this setting - perhaps its for some reason set as a default image that the phone is using to display a wallpaper (i don't really know how Aviate works but maybe it has a way to over ride the phone's wall papers).

Re: Active Applications Screen Background (wallpaper)

Just try changing the wallpaper. Long press any empty part of the homescreen (i.e., without a shortcut or widget), then select the option for wallpaper. Now pick any wallpaper from the gallery.

Re: Active Applications Screen Background (wallpaper)

Hey B. Diddy! thanks a bunch ok that worked. What I did was remove Aviate then using Touch Wizz remove the wallpaper and replace with a blank image. That did the trick. I don't know how it happened, as I said this was all done through a pocket bump so no clue. When I re-install Aviate it, my problem is gone and the recent apps screen shares the same wallpaper as specified in the main phone settings for home page wallpaper. What I learned (for those using aviate) is that the recent apps wallpaper is the same as the main wallpaper set under the main settings. This is independent from the lock screen wallpaper and independent from the home screen wallpaper that is specified through Aviate. Confused?? Too many settings on top of settings being over ridden by apps.

regardless, thanks for your help!
