How do I turn my old android phone into just a media player?

I have an old Motorola Droid that I no longer use for calling. The only uses I have for it are taking pictures and as a music player. Is there a way I can delete all the extraneous stuff like apps I don't need, etc.? They take up a lot of space and I'd like to free up as much as possible for media storage. I should add that I'm not terribly tech savvy.

Go to Settings, applications and uninstall all of your downloaded apps you don't want. Go to your download folder in your file storage and delete anything you've dowIoaded you dont want to keep. You could install an app like Clean Master which will find old temp files to delete. Then uninstall the app when you're finished.
If you don't have a data plan anymore, put phone in airplane mode. You can still use WiFi to update the apps you have left in your phone.
