I use the (crappy) Samsung email program for my gmail account. I don't need a notification from it AND the gmail app.

Thanks as always for the help.

I think you may need to remove your gmail account from the gmail app to do that.

Go to Menu > Settings > Accounts and Sync

You probably have two entries for your gmail account. You will have to figure out which one is fo rthe gmail app and which one is for the mail app.

just one gmail account under Manage Accounts.

No way to turn off the notification for incoming emails?

I'll bet you can do it if you open the gmail app, go into settings and turn off the notifications.

I like the gmail app better than the email app, so I went in to the email app's settings and turned off the notifications for that. Surely you can do it in reverse.

My question is why you choose to use the crappy Samsung one? That was my very first change the day I got my phone. Only think I miss is the puzzle piece notification.
