Notifications volume control is not the same as ringtone volume control. How do I change notifications volume?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Sound & Notifications, and adjust the notification tone volume there.

You can also use the volume rocker to bring up the ringtone adjuster and click on the Gear icon to bring up all volume adjusters.
