how do i uninstall the horrible nightmare that is lillipop?

Battery dies, lag in typing, can no longer read texts received on swipe down and have to go through extra step of clicking texts which defeats purpose of swipe down, childish infantile shapes have replaced previous home touch buttons, I could go on and on. At least give people the freedom to choose what they prefer on their own phones which they pay good money to have. I was always impressed by how long my battery lasted. Now I'm infuriated! I am enraged that I am forced to deal with this!! May leave verizon after 15 years of being customer.

I have AT&T and have been updated with the infantile home screen icons and the icons for many apps have changed as well. Camera, text messages, calculator, etc. all changed. I called and was told AT&T might be able to remove the latest update, but he was doubtful. I'm with you. I hate this new look and behavior so much. Battery life has suffered on mine as well.
