How do I unlock my phone! PLEASE HELP!!!!

*I have the Galaxy s4* I wake up and now have to enter a PIN code to get into my phone... I never had one! I called Verizon (no help) I called Samsung (no help). One thing they told me was to go on the android device manager through my Google account affiliated with the phone. I did so and the name of my device pops up but it says location unavailable. I tried changing the pw, as well as have it ring... Nothing! And the worst part is I am on my last try as far as guessing the pin code, one more time getting it wrong it wipes my phone clean... I have alot of things on this phone I cannot loose. Please someone help!!!
