How do I unlock my remotely locked phone?

I recently lost my Sony Xperia Z1 compact and remotely locked it using Google "Find My Device". I subsequently found it, but am unable to unlock it When I hit the on button, it says "This phone is lost. Please help give it back", and " Locked by Find My Device". When I tap the "home" icon. a telephone key pad image appears .on the screen and "emergency call" . It shows the correct time of day and date, and a bunch of icons on the top of the screen showing I have messages, missed calls, voicemails, etc. but I can't access anything. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Have you tried Find My Device again?

Have you tried changing the password with the Android Device Manager? (You have to wait 24 hours for the change to take effect.)

At worst case, boot into recovery and do a full factory reset.
